FMCSA / MOTUS is no longer processing change of authority. You must now withdraw an application if you have received an incorrect authority type. Example: If you have applied for and received an FF number and you are a carrier in need of a MC Carrier authority you will need to withdraw the FF application and then apply for a new MC Carrier authority. You must repay the Application fee for the new authority. You can submit a request to the FMCSA for a refund on the withdrawn application. If we are assisting, you with the withdraw process then we will automatically submit a refund request to FMCSA headquarters for you as part of the process. We will be able to provide you with an incident report number for the refund request if you wish to follow up with the refund alongside us.
